Established in 2014

Whitaker Farm, established 2014, was founded with the desire to feed our families, our community and our soil as ethical stewards for the future.

We focus on using best practices to grow our vegetables, feeding our community year round using a combination of storage crops, climate appropriate growing and season extension tools.

You can find our produce at the Comox Valley Farmer’s Market and Campbell River Farmer’s Market, and our farm store Tuesday – Friday 10 – 4 (cash or etransfer accepted).

Well, that list is getting longer, isn’t it?
More food is coming to market—so many delicious summer goodies for you to enjoy! We’ve got loads of snap peas, some great deals, and a surprise mix-in: we found some shelling peas hiding among the snaps! Caitlin is a meticulous picker and was able to separate them out! If you’re a fan of shellers, we’ve got you covered. 🫛💚 @comox_valley_farmers_market 9-1 tomorrow

Now, I’m going to bed🤣

Busy today! Harvesting a different lavender today. Better used for its amazing aroma.

🌸 Lavandula x intermedia ‘Grosso’: It is often considered to be the most cultivated lavender plant, widely used in the perfume and cosmetics industry. Long dark blue flower spikes appear around the early or middle part of summer.

For Scent, Not Snacks!
This lavender is a treat for the senses—but not for your plate! Lavandula x intermedia is not edible, it is higher in camphor. Instead, it’s prized for its strong fragrance and beautiful, long lasting dried bouquets

Here’s how to use it:
Dried bundles – hang in your kitchen, closet, or bathroom for a clean, calming scent
Lavender sachets – tuck into drawers, shoes, or under pillows
Natural air freshener – place a bundle near a sunny window and let the heat release its oils
Calming bath bouquet – hang in your shower or crumble into a warm bath
Decorative touch – lovely in wreaths, bouquets, or centerpieces
✨ Pro tip: Crush the dried buds lightly to refresh the scent over time. It’s like a deep breath of summer.

Hey folks!
We won’t be opening this Tuesday — traffic’s usually pretty light, and honestly, we’re deep in the thick of harvesting right now. This might end up being a permanent change, but we’ll see how we’re feeling by the end of the week.

If this impacts you in any way, drop a note in the comments and let us know. We’d love to hear from you
